TXs
Perhaps, with hindsight, i should have said the video codec is incompatible
with XP
any further thoughts?
Ahh yes, we're in a WinXP group. ;-)
Checking my system i see that in WinXP the Indeo Codecs
should be there already.
With the same date as most WinXP SP2 files (2004-08-04):
[IR50_*.*] - Indeo Video 5.x Codec files
[IR41_*.*] - Indeo Video 4.x Codec files
[IYUV_32.dll] - Indeo Video 2.x(IYUV) Codec file
(and still at the WinXP SP0 date (2001-08-18)
[IR32_32.dll] - Indeo Video 3.x Codec file
Check the 'Device Manager' (Sort: Devices by type) : 'Sound Video
and Game Controllers' : 'Video Codecs' : 'Properties' :
I have separate entries for the different versions listed there.
I don't remember having had any problems with [games or anything
using] the Indeo codecs under WinXP, so i can't really help any.
Sorry.
But, hang on, i do see that i several years ago did download/save
a file [indeo xp.exe](2202870 Byte), supposedly from Ligos, so
supposedly there was/is some issue with the files that comes with
WinXP that i read about and that made me download that installer.
Can't remember having ever used it though.
That filename, including the space, in your favorite
search-engine ... always scan what you download for malware.

hi
Does anyone know where I can get the required (ligos/intel) video codec
without paying!
This game will not run on my XP Home system, though its fine on my old
laptop with 2000.
I have tried and failed with the microsoft updates etc, and Ligos simply say
pay 15 bucks, AND its a microsoft issue refer to them. The help was to try
posting here
Thanks in advance for any help
If you have lots of windows-games, chances are that you have an
installer for the codecs on one of them. Common filenames are
[IV5Setup.exe] and [IV5Play.exe]. Surprising it isn't on the Risk
II CD, if that game needs some of the codecs.
If not, check out:
