Dear All,

I have 6 Windows XP Professional with Servive Pack 1 PC
in my office.

All PCs have a Ambient 56K External Modem connected to
COM 1, it use for connecting to some hardware remotely.

Only 2 PCs having problem connecting, I found out that
these two problem PCs having different driver files from
the other 4 working PCs.

Working PCs driver infomation (default from Microsoft);
Driver provider: Intel Corporation
Driver Date: 12/6/2001
Driver Version: 4.10.0.0
Details: c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Modem.sys
File version : 5.1.2600.0(xpclient.010817-1148

Installation: turn off PCs, plug-in COM1, power on modem
and PC, System auto-install by itself.

Problem PCs driver information (downloaded from supplier);
Driver provider: Ambient Technologies
Driver Date: 2/25/2000
Driver Version: 3.0.0.0
Details: c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Modem.sys
File version : 5.1.2600.0(xpclient.010817-1148

Installation: turn off PCs, plug-in COM1, power on modem
and PCs, system prompt for driver, insert CDROM and
install.

Question;

1) Why does the two PCs having same configuration does
not auto-installed the modem driver?

2) How to solve this problem?

Pls kindly help and assist, THANKS.

go to the company website that made youre drivers and get
new ones or go to

www.driverforum.com
.

Dear Sir,

I had already done that, download the lastest driver from
driverforum and also from the supplier website, all the
downloaded driver does not works with the remote hardware
connection.

I think it only works with the Microsoft default driver,
is it possible to tell me how to transfer the default
driver to the problem PCs?
