I had my Windows XP installed on a hard drive that was set
in a P3/1133 512 mb system. I then took the hard drive
and placed it into a P4/2.8Ghz 512mb system and now
Windows XP will not boot up. It brings up the "Safe Mode"
screen where I can choose between Safe/Last Known/Normal
ways of booting up windows but none of them work. After I
choose one of these, the computer reboots and brings me
back to this screen.

Ok, I will check out the link, but the repair install
didn't do anything but bring me to C:\WINDOWS Prompt which
totally loses me. About all I know or remember of Dos was
dir/p. Any other suggestions?

I went the wrong path during the Repair install and hit R
right off the bat. I am trying again using the link you
gave me and will let ya know, Thanks

worked great, thanks a bunch

The OP selected the "r" option, which loads the repair
console, which looks like a DOS window.
You boot the CD, press enter to begin an install, then
select the repair option.
