I threw them both out the window....they hit the ground at the same time.

faster than what? each other? you couldn't tell unless you have a
benchmark. IOW you'll never tell the difference.

On integer, the Duron does just as well per MHz as a coppermine PIII.
Floating point performance on the Duron is a good bit better than the
PIII. But the Duron does not support SSE, which means the PIII will do
as well or better on many FP benchmarks.
Otherwise I'll have to agree with JAD. They reach the ground at the
same time.
