I have built a new machine (MB Intel D975XBX 1351 BIOS, HDs, CD/DVD, PS...)
and thought I would move the old WinXP Pro OS HD from the old machine to the
new one as added storage and I could copy My Docs to new Sata drives. Both
machines running WinXP Pro. However, when I plug in the IDE HD on the IDE
connector I get the Stop: 0x0000007B (0xf789E528, 0x0000034, 0x0000000,
0x0000000) error. It does not say 'inaccessable_boot_device' which I see
when I search the groups for help on this Stop: 0x0000007B error after
repeated Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)Partition(1)\Windows\....text. What info I
have found in the search tells me to match components to orig system but
that doesn't fit my predicament. The other search info on Multi(0)... talks
about changing the boot.ini file. It appears, even when I have the CD/DVD
(on the IDE channel) as last in boot order in BIOS, the machine is still
trying to boot from the old WinXP Pro HD that is set up as slave on the IDE
channel. Then I get the Stop: 0x0000007B error and never get to where it
boots from the SATA drive 0. How can I get the machine to boot from the
SATA drive 0 first?
Thanks for your help!
