I was give a computer, and want to get it working.
It simply will not boot. No CMOS, nothing comes on screen. Mouse and
keyboard recieve power. Monitor does not indicate a signal, though the
videocard does work in my good computer. Memory is good, as pulled from my
working computer. I do get CPU fan spin-up, as well was a green light on the
board itself indicating power is applied, when switched off. I have only the
power applied to the mobo, cpu installed, memory installed, and video. I do
not have hooked up any storage devices, or other peripheals such as modems.
Motherboard:
Intel D845BG
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 of unknown speed
Tommorow I will find a pinout of the atx connector and make sure all
voltages are within normal range. It seemed a few were low when I tested
them the other day, but they may have been within normal tolerances. I have
yet to try another powersupply, but will do that next. I have no information
as to when it stopped working. Nothing on the motherboard shows its fried or
took a power surge, such as blown capacitors.
Anyone have any suggestions?
