I'm looking at purchasing a laptop (like, today!). I've been looking at
a Turion 64 X2 machine, but was wondering if the Intel Core Duo based
machines (T2300, T2400, etc.) were 64 or 32 bit machines? TIA

Never mind...I found the answer (Intel Core Duo chips are 32bit).

Depends on who you "believe"; Intel seems to think 32+32 = 64; but the core
duo are two separate 32 bit chips. (no, they are not 64 bit).
