Intel Chipset 945 Update - Screen flicker and resolution change

I have been having trouble with my ASUS PRO31F notebook since I installed the
optional driver update for the Mobile Intel 945 Chipset Family. Ever since,
when I put the machine to sleep and go to awake it, when it comes on there is
a flicker twice on the screen as though it is having trouble refreshings. In
addition, after the further optiona update, the screen resolutions goes large
(800 x 600 dpi) and you are unable to change it back to the original until
you shut it down and restrart it and then it flickers twice and sorts itself
out. It stays OK until you put it to sleep by pressing the on/off button and
the whole thing starts over again. I have to let it just let its screen go
blank and come back to it by moving the mouse.

Is there a fix for this problem as it is only getting worse and the
subsequent updates fail to install giving the code 80070103. I don't appear
to be the only sufferer with this problem. Come in Microsoft get it sorted. I
wish I'd never changed to Vista!!!

Uninstall the updates (Control Panel -> Programs ->View installed updates)
and wait for Intel to produce a driver that works better, or check Asus' or
Intel's website for updates.

Thanks Paul, that was quick, can't you sleep??? Anyway, I have tried this but
the update that I want to uninstall do not appear as an option. They are
mostly windows updates and secruity updates and do not refer to the Intel
update that I think is the problem. Any more ideas??

You could use driver roll back in Device Manager. Quickest way to get there
would be to type Device Manger in Start Search. Roll back is under the
driver tab in the properties window of specific hardware bits.

Tried that, no option to roll back (not highlighted). I have downloaeded an
update from the Intel website, but now, every time I start up the computer
there are three boxes that I need to activate before the computer carries on
loading (all are from Intel)

This does not tell me anything. I have been onto it and tried to sownload the
chipset utiliy driver but there is no option for Vista. DO I need to download
somoething else.
