integrated cache vs processor speed question??

i am looking at upgrading my CPU to an AMD XP 2600+ and there are 2 versions
to choose from. both are 333 FSB.

1 has a processor speed of 2.08Ghz with L2 cache of 256 for a total cach of
384.

the other has a processor speed of 1.91Ghz with L2 cache of 512 for a total
cache of 640.

what's more important or better for my system - cache or the processor
speed?? i have 1GB of PC2700 RAM installed. debating on going to 1.5GB in
this upgrade.

thoughts, suggestions or insight??

cache!!! You won't notice a difference in processor speed, even if you were
to bump up to 3000+, but the more cache will make a big difference. -Dave

Cache is more important. If the clock speed bothers you then bump it
up to 2.08GHz just move the clock multiplier up from 11.5 to 12.5 as
long as the computer is good temp wise. Then you get the best of both
worlds.
