Unless this is XP Home:
Assuming the NIC is installed along with tcp/ip and they are properly
configured. The XP client needs to have the domain's DNS ip_address defined
in LAN properties. An account with the right to create computer accounts on
the W2K domain must be used to login to domain initially.

Join to the Win2000 domain by :
Open - Start > Settings > Control Panel > System
Goto - Computer Name tab
OEnter the "Change" botton.

On the "Member of" section - choose the "Domain" radio
button, and write your domain name.

After you'll get the massege that you computer
successfully joined to the domain - you can logon to the
doamin in your next re-boot
