Host system: Win XP, SP 1, 2.8GHz P4, 2GB RAM
Guest: Win 2k Prof SP 4
VMWare Workstation 4.5.1-7568
I've been using VMWare so far without trouble. In my latest
installation I get an "Insufficient quota to complete the requested
service" error when starting Win2k. The VM memory is set to 768MB RAM,
the virtual disk to 10 GB. My host has sufficient RAM (2GB) and Hard
disk space. My drives have no(!) quotas.
What I have tried (WITHOUT SUCCESS):
- I moved the VM files to another drive => no hardware defect.
- I have used two 3 GB virtual drives instead of one =>
I wanted to make sure it is no 4 GB problem.
- I have switched the virtual drive to "independent persistent".
- I have used split disk option (multiple files per disk).
- I have disabled any Virus scanners etc. on host
(though I have had never problems with this).
- I have reinstalled the VM -> problem comes again.
Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated
