Recently after installing and running SBC DSL software I
have been getting an error message stating "Insuffcient
system resources exist to complete the requested
service". I get this message anytime I try to open a
program. I reboot the computer and its fine for few
hours. I remove the SBC software and it appears to be
fine as well. any idea on what is causing the problem.

None of that software is required, but if you feel compelled to run
it, you'll have to review and clean up unnecessary programs from
"Start up".

Dan,
I appreciate the information. I assume I clean up the
start up by going to "msconfig" and deselecting
unnecessary items. Thanks for your input. I was not aware
that I could use my DSL without all of the SBC Yahoo
software.

Absolutely. I ran their software originally, but realized I didn't
need it when I got my wife's system hooked up through a home
network. When I plugged her system in, and she was "off and
running" without installing one piece of SBC's software, it became
pretty obvious. Even dialup access and the P.P.P.o.E
connections can be done with built-in XP functions.

And yes, your correct about using MSCONFIG to
clean up unnecessary programs. You may also alleviate
the situation by just running key pieces of the SBC stuff.
For instance you should be able to run the browser, but get rid of
the "Connection Manager" and all of the junk that goes with it.
(Like constantly running programs that send statistics back to SBC)

If you do get rid of Connection Manager, and you're not using a
router, you'll need to create a P.P.P.o.E connection in XP to sign
on to your SBC account.
