I have a persistant popup called "instantsearch.cc" which
opens to advertizing. Neither MS Antispyware, Spybot or
Lavaware detects it. While searching for suspicious
files, I found a Notepad document called "sites" in
Windows with references to "instantsearch.cc" and
advertising sites. Can I safely remove this document?
Will a spyware program still exist somewhere else in
Windows that uses this file? The reporting tool in
Antispyware doesn't work, so I'm posting it here. The
following is the contents of the file "sites":

Here's a thread where there is a start at removing this critter via
HijackThis log analysis.

The thread is incomplete, but the initial set of removals is noted, so
perhaps it will give you useful ideas.
