Instant Messenger Problems

I cannot get a new computer to log on to IM - it seems to
be a problem in the browser configuration - any ideas?
 
Yes I did register but when I go to log on, I get
a "Unable to connect to AIM server" - also tried using
icrosft Instant messenger and it also says it is unable
to connect to the internet - but I can get to the
internet any other way.

Did you sign up for a NET Passport to get on the MSN Instant Messenger?
If not, you must do that... Only takes a couple minutes..
As for the AOL IM... Did you download and install it from the
AOL web site? If so, remove that one and go to this link and download
it from here...

When you get to the page above, click on NEW USERS CLICK HERE.
Do not UPDATE... Be sure you have uninstalled the other AIM before
you do this...
