Installshield from Macrovision/Should I uninstall it?

I see the following lines in the startup related to Installshield: ISUSPM.exe
and issch.exe. I searched the Net and it seems to be software related to
Macrovision. I looked for it in the Program list and in Add/Remove Programs
(Control Panel) and it is not listed. There's only a "Program Updates" icon
in Control Panel belonging to Installshield. My question is: Is this software
essential to WinXP proper functioning? If not, how can I uninstall it? Thanks.

It isn't part of Windows, but I wouldn't bother trying to uninstall it. I
would, however, disable it in startup.

There is also a NT Service.

I am finding this crap all over my workstations and I find it both annoying and using up
resources my user's need.
