Hi!

I also postet in the games section, however I think the problem is more
Vista related.

When trying to install FSX on Vista X64 I get the following errors:

0x80040706 Object reference not set

and

0x80040707 DLL function Call crashed ISRT._WaitOnDialog

however, the same disk installed fine on XP SP2

Any ideas?

Well, the game manufacturer is Microsoft! (FSX is Flight Simulator X)
I am the only user and therefor the administrator.

I found out that it is somehow related to the Windows Install Shield. This
error used to happen on Windows XP SP1 and earlier versions. But it's
supposed to be fixed since SP2 and I hope also in Vista.

regards
Martin

Have you checked with the game manufacturer to see if it is supported in
Vista? Right-click the installer and Run as Administrator?

OK, I fpound the solution!

It seems like the Data execution prevention "feature" (I call it a bug)
caused this problem. Deactivated it and now it installs OK
