Hello all,
I am attempting a fresh XPE database installation on Micsrosoft SQL
server 2008 Express Edition. Despite creating a "named instance" with
the name "MSSQLSERVER" as referenced by Sean Liming and Microsoft
blogs (relating to SQL Server 2005, however), the XP Embedded
database setup problem still complains that there is no database
engine installed, and refuses to install.
The specific error message is: "The Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) or
SQL Server, Version 2000 or later, is required to be installed and
running before you install or modify this product."
Has anyone else been successful using 2008 tools for a FULL install,
starting from the SP1 install disks?
Thanks,
Steve S
