Greetings. I purchased a PC from a guy I found through
Ebay six months ago. I asked him to put XP Pro in it. He
did, but six months later, when I started getting
problems, I found that my O/S is unauthorized. So, I
purchased the software not only to fix my problems but
also to have a hard copy which should have come with the
PC.
I was instructed to just put the disc in and let it do the
job. I installed over the existing sytem and the system
found what files were missing.
My problem is that my keyboard won't work when booting the
system. I can hit the delete key and setup will show, but
after I exit and it comes to the blue screen and asks for
my password the keyboard won't work.
I tried swapping out from the pc I'm now writing on and a
few other shoot in the dark tries but nothing will let me
get passed the password screen.
I vaguely remember in the 95 days that pressing a
combination of keys will skip most of the boot up and go
directly into windows. Can we do it with XP?
thanks, harv
