Installing XP

I currently have Windows 98 and bought Windows XP Pro Student. I have
followed the directions to install and everytime I try I get an error
message. This last message said Error EFFF5Ch. Do you know what this means or
what I should try to be able to install XP?

Is that all it said, Just Error EFFF5Ch with no other information of
any kind? That is highly unusual for a Windows error message.
