Everything was working great since I installed Panda AV Plantinum 7.x a
few months ago onto an XP Pro machne. I like Panda's a/v. The firewall
was a bit simple, but I keep using it because its integrated and its
only a test box.
Installed SP2. Now no network at all. Email, Firefox, IE etc.
Checked the support pages on Panda's site. There are exactly the right
questions, but all the answers are about how to use a firewall, and
making sure you have allowed net access to the relevant programs.
But I know (believe) everything had the right permissions, and I even
checked them, and uninstalled/reinstalled the Panda s/w and downloaded
all the Panda updates.
Tried Googling Panda + Firewall + SP2 but I couldn't really find
anything satisfactory (I will keep trying this in the meantime).
At the moment, turned off Pandas firewall, and put on KPF 2.1.5. The
other 2 bits of the Panda A/V (permanent protection & email protection)
seem to be working fine.
I am thinking its something I've broken on my machine (I just figure
that if there really were an incompatibility, there would be Google and
Panda support hit all over the place).
Just looking for suggestions as to where I might start looking. Or
maybe leave Panda's firewall off and finally shell out for that Tiny
Firewall I've read good things about ("very good but hard to use"),
