Installing XP Pro on a different computer after removing from another

I have an original Windows XP Professional software pacakge that I had originally installed on my old laptop. I did this at the suggestion of Microsoft tech support to resolve a network problem with Windows 2000. I later found that you could correct the problem within Windows 2000 so I re-installed 2000. I now have an un-used copy of Windows XP Pro that I would like to install on my Home desktop. What do I have to do the activate this for the home computer?

You may have to call Microsoft to activate your Software.

Assuming a retail license (OEM licenses are not transferable),
simply remove WinXP from the computer it is currently on, and install
it onto the new one. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you
might have to make a 5 minute phone call.
