When I was starting to install Windows XP, I received and
upgrade report with a couple of warnings saying that some
hardware might need additional files in order to work with
XP. Can I still keep installing XP and go online for the
updates later? Another one is that her driver for the
printer may not be compatible.

Thanks JO

As long as your modem or ethernet adapter is supported, then you'll be ok.
You may just want to go download the additional drivers now, so you'll have
them already.

I agree with Doug Knox. It would be better to have the XP driver
files already downloaded and available before completing the upgrade.

And check with the printer manufacturer's web site for an XP driver
for that printer. They may have produced one after XP was released,
or at least too late for it to have been included on the XP CDs.

Good luck
