I attempted to install XP over ME, but rec'd a system message that both
Operating Systems could not be resident in the same sector of the hard drive.
So, I installed XP in a separate sector. Now I cannot access any of the
programs that were already loaded into ME, such as Word, Access, Printshop,
etc.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

No, you cannot. If you want the dual boot configuration which it appears you
ended up with, you will have to reinstall all the applications in winXP.

If you wanted to upgrade from ME to XP, then you should have booted ME,
inserted the XP CD and selected upgrade.

You could remove the new XP installation and upgrade your ME installation.

Remember to backup all your important data prior to performing an upgrade.

Thanks very much. Your answer was concise and to the point. Thanks again.
Looks like my best bet is to reinstall.
