Having purchased a 2nd hand PC for the Children it came
with Windows NT pre installed. I purchased Windows XP but
I am unable to load it as it appears to be an invlaid
upgrade path.

Any solutions?

Greetings --

That's correct. WinNT can be upgraded to WinXP Pro, but not to
WinXP Home. You'll need to perform a clean installation.

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
