I purchased XP seperatly from my computer. My computer
came with Windows ME pre-loaded. When installing windows
XP it asks which partition I want to install XP on. I
want to install it on C, but ME is already there. Can I
get rid of ME without affecting my files (Word,
powerpoint, etc.) that are on my hard drive? Should I
install XP and then get rid of ME or vice-versa? Exactly
how do I get rid of ME? Thanks!

You just do an Upgrade install of Windows XP. That will get rid of ME and
put on XP, but all your settings and documents will stay.
