XP upgraded your boot on the primary drive, without duplicating it to the
new drive (which is predictable).

When you wish to install a second OS on your computer, remove the old
drive and install from a CD.

If you wish to :

* Only keep W2k: Use the CD to repair W2k. (Then remove this drive, insert
the new one and install Xp separately if you want the second drive to be
independantly XP bootable)
* Upgrade to XP: Use the XP CD and choose Upgrade. The old disk will be
used.
* Only keep XP: Remove old drive. Install XP on the new one. When done,
add the secon drive as SLAVE and copy whatever data needed.
* Dual boot: Boot can only rezide on the primary disk. To make each disk
bootable, the process is rather complex. Besides, you already have dual boot

If you want to keep all your applications and upgrade the OS, and
move onto the new disk I suggest these steps;

1. "ghost" the old drive onto the new drive
2. remove it and make the boot disk.
3. Boot the sytem and make sure everything works.
4. Do an XP "upgrade"
5. Test your new system. If it screws up, put the original disk
back and go back to step 1.
