I have installed the XP service pack 2 and spyware.
I cannot now install an application. Getting failure due
to failure of RPC.
I am not sure if I have lost a registry key or how I can
fix.
If I uninstall spyware, will this correct itself or
should I reinstall all the registries which were
quarantined?

I am very interested in how you make out - I had the same
problem, and basically abandoned the machine - RPC
unexpected termination error, and a 1 minute timeout to
shutdown - this was not enough time to do anything, and
support did not offer anything useful.

Wish this were more supportive, but also wish I did not
have to rebuild may machine from scratch.

It sounds like you have the Blaster (or Welchia) virus: you need an
anti-virus application. This AntiSpyware is not going to help you with that
virus.

I found some instruction on MS Web site. Said that I may
have lost a registry file that I needed in the clean up.
Said to go to a "healthy" PC and copy over registry
files. I may resort to reinstalling all the infected
files and start from scratch.
