Installing WinXP Pro over WinXP Home

Can WinXP Pro boxed retail be installed over an OEM WinXP Home
activated system? Will this mess up the current activation? Can I
upgrade my CPU and motherboard somewhere in the process? Thanks.

Yes you can upgrade your Home with Pro and activation will not be a
problem.
If Windows XP Pro is an upgrade, you can not move Home to another
computer because it is tied to the computer as an upgrade qualifier.
