At work we have recently had to replace a number of
computers.
When replacing an old computer, it's entire memory has
been wiped for confidentiality purposes including the
actual windows operating system.

We could now do with using some of these computers again
though & as they are at the moment they are near useless
as when turned on ofcourse nothing loads!

A version of windows therefore needs to be reinstalled &
I've been told that only W2K will work as it's the only
version bootable from CD.

I'm not exactly an expert so any advise will be greatly
appreciated!! Thanks

Put the Win 2k CD in the CD drive and boot the computer. Follow the
directions.

Hi Allan,
Windows XP and all versions of Windows 2000 are bootable from CD. Most
earlier OSes require booting from a floppy diskette to start the Setup
process.

Before installing any OS, verify that the hardware components meet the
minimum (or even better, recommended) requirements for the Operating System
you're planning to install.
