I purchased quite inexpensively a Windows XP Professional (Version 2002).
Everything is original Microsoft. The previous owner as upgraded to Vista. I
am planning to load Windows XP in my computer, for I am still running
Windows 2000. Is there any problem with the fact that I am using a second
hand Windows XP?
Thank you.

As long as:
1. It is retail and not OEM.
2. You have the original and not a copy of the media.
3. You have the original and not a copy of the Product Key.

If any of the above are not true, then you may have problems since it
is possible what you have is not legitimate.

Otherwise there should be no problems.
Worst case, it may be necessary to call Microsoft to activate,
typically less than 10 minutes.

What's wrong with OEM versions?

Nothing, as long as it stays with the original computer.

OEM can never be transferred from the original computer regardless the
condition of that computer.
Read the EULA for details.

One of the many reasons OEM is cheaper than retail.

Thank you for the answer. I confirm that:
1. Windows XP is retail
2. It is the original media
3. It is the original Product Key
Do you know by chance the specific phone number I have to call in order to
activate?
TIA,
Gene

Please ignore question. I found the number.
Thanks,
