My computer currently has the ME operating system. I would
like to install and run the XP operating system. How do I
go about doing this? Will I run two operating systems at
one time? Do I need to back up all my files? Some one
told me that there is an XP overlay that I can download and
run with ME. Please send instructions on how to do this.

Thank you,
Eric

Upon installation of XP you will be given the option of "upgrade" or
"new install". If you do not want to lose any of your old
data....choose upgrade. If you want to start over.........choose new
install. Note: New Installs are always more stable, and present less
problems down the road.

I don't know what you mean by "overlay".

You can also run Me AND XP on the same machine, if you install XP to a
different partition. At boot you will be able to choose what OS you
want to boot into.

Sound advice is to dump Me all together though..... it's a dog.
