Installing Windows XP SP2

Pat Sheehan

My computer is about 3 months old and is running under
Windows XP. I wished to have the system upgraded so I
obtained a copy of SP2. Inserted it in the drive, clicked
the appropriate buttons until the screen "Extracting
files" appeared. It extracted all of the files and then
reverted back to the normal windows screen. Nothing
displayed showing that the files were installing or that I
must restart my computer. Wondered if they installed in
the background. Went into "Add/Remove programs in the
Control Panel. SP2 was not listed. Please help me. What am
I doing wrong?

hi Pat
I think you should download the service pack from online microsoft site.
I downloaded it two days ago BUT it did cause some conflict with my wireless
network. I wasnt able to connect to the internet. so better talk to a friend
or someone before updating.
