Hi there

like to uninstall Windows 2000 In Windows XP my modem is
not responding or I receive an error message that My modem
is being used

Thanks Shy-Ann

Hi Shy-Ann,

How you proceed depends on what you have. Did you upgrade an existing system
or do a new installation and create a dual boot?

If you upgraded an existing system, then there is nothing to remove. The
upgrade would have replaced all existing Win2000 system files.

If you created a dual boot, then you can boot to WinXP and delete the
Win2000 system folders from Windows Explorer. Then simply remove the line
that references it from the [operating systems] section of boot.ini.

In either case, it is not the cause of your modem interference, as only one
OS can be running at any one time (I'm not talking about virtual scenarios
here). Check that the modem driver is updated.
