I have a laptop without internal CD-ROM nor floppy.

If I get a USB CD-ROM, will I be able to launch the installation?

Since the laptop has only USB 2.0 adapter, as I don't think Windows 2000
will contain driver for USB 2.0.

The situation i think is that I will be able to boot, but installtion hang
up then when it fails to locate the CD.

Thanks.

I assume that, as Win2K SP4 now recognizes USB2.0, a
slipstreamed Win2K+SP4 might do the trick.

Depends on your hardware - it may not be able to boot from USB. Check with
the HW mfr - sometimes their brand of floppy/CD will be bootable but others
won't (I know this is true of Toshibas and Sony Vaios)
