As with previous versions of windows will it be posible to a clean install
from a Vista upgrade disk, assuming it will ask to check the CD and key?

Or would this approach require a full install disk?

many thanks

The response from MSFT reps seem to indicate 'No' to your
1st question, but you'll probably have to wait until you get
your hands on a RTM DVD to find out for sure. You may have
to wait for the answer to your 2nd question, too.

Response seems to be that a clean install is possible from within your XP to
a different volume using upgrade sku.
There should be no problem installing a clean install using the full
product.

Ah well time will tell I guess

The RTM DVD do not upgrade. All it do is to move all old files (c:\documents
and settings, C:\Windows, C:\program files) into a c:\windows.old dir.

(given that your old install was on C:\windows)

When I upgraded Vista RC1 to RC2 I did make that temporary, which I could
easily remove. Since I am not a MSDN subscriber I'll wait to see how the
upgrade from RC2 to RTM goes.
