Installing using backup cd

I had to do a full system recovery( I have a hp pavilion and does not come with a cd) but before I did I backed up some of my documents and programs on a cd. I downloaded the software from download.com and now that my system is up how do i open the cd and install all the software I saved? when I try to open the disk it says that does not recognize the file type(.myc) and i do not rember the name of the program I used to create the backup cd. Please Help

You have to install the application you used to create the backup. Does
Backup MyPC sound familiar?

Thank you for the reply.
It's been unchecked. I still get Unicode.

Ignore news sending format and post using
Plain Text

I even have this set.
If something is going to be screwed up, it'll
be something that I have.
