installing SP2 on Windows XP home edition

Hello, Does anyone have the answer to this? Each time I download SP2 I can't
connect to the internet. When I try all that happens is it says cannot find
server. I have gone into the run box and pinged yahoo and I am connected.
However, being connected I cannot get on the net. Could anyone help me? I
await a response and thank you.
