installing SP2 for XP on Dell

I downloaded the XP update (SP@) from the MS site, but it
wouldn't install using the Wizard. Apparently a file
isn't on the XP CD that Dell provided. The Wizard askes
for a file for "XP Office with Frontpage" that this Dell
XP Home Edication must not include. Any suggestions?
Should I contact Dell?

I think that you may have mistaken an MS Office XP update for an XP OS
update. IF the wizard is asking for an Office CD to verify files, it is
an Office update. Office XP and XP Home or Pro are quite different
products.

You may or may not have received a version of MS Office XP with your Dell
package purchase- Office has never been part of Windows. If you do not
have MS Office XP, the update you've downloaded is not appropriate.

There is no SP2 for Windows XP. Only SP1 has been released.

That sounds like you're trying to install an update for *Office*
XP, not Windows XP; these are two entirely different things.
Check what you downloaded carefully.

You are mixing up Windows XP (this group) which has a service pack SP1a,
with Office XP the Application suite, which has an SP2. I doubt if a
Dell machine came with Office installed - more probably Works, which is
different again
