I need to know how you do a "clean" install for software.
Meaning ..when I had Win 98SE I would C+A+D and the Task
Manager would open and I would close everything except
Systray and Explore.
I would like to do the same in Win XP. But when I open the
Task Manager and look at the Processes running...there are
just soooo many I am not sure what to leave open.
The reason I would like to know this is I have installed
PSP8 that worked perfectly on my old system but it is not
working well with Win XP and I know it is compatible. I
just bought the software a couple of monts before I got my
new system with XP on it.
So I thought I should uninstall it and try a "clean"
install.
Thanks.

Thank you for giving me that link( I have been there
already in my search) but that is NOT what I am asking
about...I dont; want to clean boot my sytstem...I want to
do a "clean install" of a software program so I will not
have prograom running in the backgorund when I
do....thanks anyway.

Just exit applications that are running in the foreground before you install
an app in XP. You do not have to shut down running processes.
