Installing software for users

Hi all,
My computer has myself as an administrator and 2 further people as users.
I am installing some software for a digital camera for 1 of the users.
I have installed it with me logged in under my administrator account. Is
this correct firstly? Or, should I change one of the users to an
adminsitrator, install the software, then change them back to a user??

The way that I have currently installed it, when I try to open the software
under their login it comes up with an 'access denied to file......' error
message. If i change the user to an administrator it opens it fine??

any idea on what I am doing wrong??

thanks

Craig

Howdy Craiga!

You need to grant the users the right ntfs-permissions to access the
files, the software needs. Maybe "filemon" from sysinternals.com will
help you.

cheers,

Florian

Thanks Florian,
I have already tried changing the permissions for the folder and the file,
but it still comes up with the same error. I can't understand why it's
happening??

Thanks

Did you try the program "filemon" from sysinternals? Maybe you could try
to figure out, if the program needs to have specific read/write
permissions on the registry. "regmon" would be your friend in this case.

cheers,
