using the MOAC text by Dave Field for XP Pro and the instruction on page 45
for installing Setup Manager are vague. "Step 2. Navigate to the
Support\Tools\Deploy folder" there is no Deploy folder on the CD-ROM.

"Windows XP Professional displays the contents of DEPLOY.CAB"-it does not.
It might exract those contents if I could find the "shortcut menu" metioned
in Step 4.

I checked the KB also and it is not much better.
b. Double-click the DEPLOY.CAB file to open it.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314459 --Not on my XP Pro sp2 machine-
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308662/EN-US/ tells about w2k pro but the
steps do not exactly answer here either.

Can you tell me what i am doing wrong, or misunderstanding?

Do you have an actual XP Pro installation CD? If so, you should
find the Deploy.cab file in the Support\Tools folder on the
installation CD.

If you don't have an XP Pro installation CD, you can download
the same files that are contained in Deploy.cab from this web
site.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Deployment Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...91-AC56-4665-949B-BEDA3080E0F6&displaylang=en

Save the downloaded file,
WindowsXP-KB838080-SP2-DeployTools-ENU.cab, to a handy
location.
Right click on the file select Properties from the menu.
Hit the Unlock button on the General page.
Next, double click on the file to open it.
Hit the Ctrl + A keys to select all the files.
Right click one of the now highlighted files and select Extract
from the menu.
Create a new folder named Deployment Tools and hit the Extract
button.

Good luck

Thanks!!
I Do have an installation CD, but I could not open the .cab file with any
effort I made. i copied it to my Documents, changed the read-only attributes,
nothing seemed to work until I downloaded the file from your recommendation.
Your file opened and extracted. Now I'm back in business.

BTW, anyone NOT a Pat's fan this year is gonna have to wait, and I'm a
D-Broncos and D-Cowboys fan.

OUTSTANDING reply to my problem!

You're welcome. Thanks for taking the time to let us know
you've got the files you need.
