Installing Services ?

I would like to get some opinions on which order is
recommned for installing services of a windows 2000
server. Ex. First I configure my network adapter with
static IP addressing for both the IP of the NIC and the
DNS. I then install DNS and run DCPROMO. Once this is
done I install DHCP then my SP4 and adminpak.msi. Does
this sound like a good strategy.
NOTE: The reason I am asking is I am having problems
getting DNS to work. I can browse the net to site links
but anylink I try to get into I get an error cannot
locate DNS server.

Thankyou.

The Service Pack should be done last. Your problem is most likely due to how
you configured the DNS server on the domain.

You should be using forwarders at DNS server which can only forward requests
when no root zone is declared at DNS server. The knowledge base and DNS
white papers would be well advised since DNS is quite critical in a W2K
environment.
