Installing Service Pac

I keep getting a window popping up that lets me know I've been hacked and that I need to install service pac 1. I can get rid of the hackers, but when I downlaod & install service pac 1, I can only start in safemode when compiter is rebooted. I then unistall the service pac and run just fine. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you might have been conned into installing a "service pac
1" of unknown origin not having anything to do with Microsoft.

Just what did you do? Install a legitimate Microsoft update?

Are you aware of Microsoft Update? (access securely via your onc omputer
Help and Support section).
