Hello, I am hoping someone may have experience with the above. I am trying to
install the SBC Yahoo OnlineProtection Suite and cannot execute the intial
program, SBC Software Detection. It indicates that I am unable to install,
even with the file downladed to my machine. I can install on other machines
with no issues, so am thinking it is a setting in IE or prehaps on XP. I am
hoping not to have to reinstall XP. Thank You

Rob, Thanks, i was not sure if IE related or maybe the OS. When I execute
from the desktop there is no message, but the SW does not install. When
trying to execute from the web page (using IE) it indicates either active X
issues or not an admin. Given that I am able to install other programs from
the web (Mozilla, ZoneLabs). I am logged on as an administrator, and have
been able to run using ActiveX. I am guessing something is left behind from
an install or uninstall at some point that is conflicting with the new
installation. I checked the add/remove and can see nothing out there, and am
not a fan of registry editing. Onward I plug. Thanks

Hi Tim,
This is not really an IE issue so don't expect many responses.

Make sure you are logged on as the Owner (Administrator). There should be
some sort of message telling you why it can't install. Insufficient access
rights is an obvious one.
