I waited until RC1 to install Vista. I ran the Upgrade Advisor. There were
software several issues raised: IntelliPoint, ActiveSync, J2SE, Toshiba
Bluetooth stack for Windows. I'm looking through the newsgroup to see what
resolution, if any exists. One thing I haven't found yet, will Vista do an
upgrade install or does it require a new install and force a re-install of
existing software?

If you are using the 32 bit version Vista, you will be able to upgrade from
32 bit XP. You can also do a clean install, if you have a empty logical
partition to install on. During the initial phase of setup, the options will
be presented to do a clean or custom install.

Some of my devices are not working, what should I do?
You can do a couple things; check the manufacturer’s website for patches,
updates or to simply find out about Vista support for the particular
product. If your internet connection is working in Windows Vista, I suggest
you try obtaining the drivers through Windows Update. Click Start > All
Programs > Windows Update > Turn on Windows Update. A list of available
updates will then be downloaded, you will have the option to view them, do
so and check off the appropriate drivers you need and click Install.

I don't own an IntelliPoint device, so I can't give you an answer on support
for it. As for J2SE, you can download the Beta 2 release of Java 6 Standard
Edition.
