Installing Programs After Upgrade From Win98

After upgrading from Win98, very few of the programs that
I have on my hard drive will work. If I go to MY
COMPUTER, they will list but will not function. Is this
an "Install" problem? If so, how do I re-install these
programs since most all my computer stuff has been in
storage since we moved to a smaller house. They worked
perfectly under the Win98 operating system (or GUI, if you
prefer).

Thank you.

It's not a good idea to perform an upgrade...
you would have been better off doing a clean install.

Just reinstall any non-working apps and hopefully you will be ok

there is nothing different about the procedure for installing apps
on win2k (as compared to win98)
