Installing Programmes - Problems

I am having problems installing McAfee Virusscan 8 on my new PC which has
WinXP Home. The install starts and get to about 70% complete and then it all
disappears and I am returned to the start up screen with icons and nothing
further happens.

Any body else had similar problems? Any solutions? I have replaced the
disk but this does not help.

Also when my Kids are playing The Sims on the same PC the programme stops
and returns them to the same screen as above.

Sounds like a problem with the McAfee installer. Check their online help
documents or contact their technical support.

Also, there are some viruses that will block installing, running or
updating of antivirus programs. May want to try one of the online antivirus
scans to be sure that's not the problem you're facing. Here are links for
