Installing printer

NEED HELP....PLEASE!!!!:(

Moved my system from one side of the room to the other.
Couldn't print after everything was put back together.
Uninstalled printer, was going to reinstall only I get
msg. box saying "Operation could not be completed" Now
that I have pulled half my hair out I seek your advice.
Tried using install disk, everything I can think of but
won't work. Even tried to restore to previous point but I
can't do that either. How did my system get so screwed up?
Boyfriend as been downloading and visiting alot of porn
could that have caused corruption to my systems virgin
circuits? HELP need my system to update my website for
work (a humane society) and I print a lot of stuff for
work......

Is it a parallel interface, a serial one (unlikely), or

Is it a parallel interface, a serial one (unlikely), or
USB?USB Printer is an HP 656c came with my system.
 
Do you have another USB device to test the USB
functionality with? If the USB is otherwise working, then
we'll start looking at the printer. If the USB ports are
dead, we'll look at the USB ports.
