I have just bought a new printer (Lexmark X5150) and tried
to install the drivers onto my PC.

I connected the printer to my PC and started my computer
(Windows 2000). During startup, a dialog box appeared and
siad "new hardware detected, would i like to install the
driver" - or something on these lines - i folloowed the
steps (OK) and i was pressented with a messages
stating "An err occured with the installation of the
device, the required section was not found in the INF".

I then attempted to install the printer driver through the
controll pannel and on the final step (FINISH) i was
presented with the following message "Printer drive not
installed. Operation could not be completed".

When i restarted my PC i was then presented with a message
which said "Program Error - SHPC32.EXE has generated
errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to
restart the program"

I then booted the system up in Windows 98 (dual boot
system) and it detected the new hardware and installed the
printer driver. But when i go into Windows 2000 it does
not work.

I dont understand what is going on, can anyone help me on
this problem.

Thanks

Pete
