Installing PowerShell in Vista

Having read other threads, it's obvious PowerShell works in Vista, but I'm
sure having trouble getting it going. I WAS able to download and install to
my laptop running Windows XP, but the only download I could find for Vista
looks like it's for a pre-release version of Vista. I downloaded and
installed, but I can't find anything on my menu to open it. There is nothing
listed in Control Panel > Programs and Features to uninstall. I tried
installing it again, it seems to install with no problems, but again, how do
I get it started? I'm new to PowerShell, which complicates matters, but at
least on my laptop there's a menu entry I can click, which brings up a
screen, presumably for entering code. My user account has administrator
privileges.

Ah HA! I knew I had to be looking in the wrong place. If you do a search on
PowerShell and Vista, the first article to appear is "How to download Windows
PowerShell 1.0". That article explicitly mentions that its for a prelease
version of Vista, and points to Windows6.0-KB923569-x86. I don't remember
what other terms I had in my search that eliminated the version you listed,
but whatever. The link you pointed me to worked fine.

Thank you for your assistance.

I'm glad it worked. You might, as you are learning about the program, be
interested to know that this newsgroup is available:
